World Book Day 2025
World Book Day ‘Get ready to read your way’ - Thursday 6 March 2025
On Thursday 6 March, the children at Kilham C of E Primary School celebrated World Book Day! Like last year, we gave the children the choice of how they want to come dressed to school. Children could either come dressed as a book character, or they could come dressed in their comfiest pyjamas/onesie.
During the day, children were involved in several activities.
World Book Day Activities
The school had lots of fun activities planned for all the children to take part in throughout the day:
- In the morning, the children all gathered in the hall for a special World Book Day Worship.
There was a DEAR (Drop Everything And Read!) session when Mr Palmer rang the school bell, and all the children stopped what they were doing and read.
- In classrooms, there was a ‘An Ultimate Character Champion battle’ to find out who the most popular character from a book was in each class.
On Friday (the day after World Book Day), we announced the winner of our annual Kate Nellar poetry competition, D McCabe, who wrote a lovely poem about friendship.
