Sponsored Walk Success – despite the heat  â€“ Thank You for Your Support!

Despite the soaring temperatures on Friday 20th June, our once every two year Sponsored Walk was a fantastic success! With some careful adjustments to our original plans, we were able to ensure all children stayed safe, cool, and enjoyed a wonderful day outdoors.

To protect everyone from the heat, the Key Stage 2 route was shortened to a three-mile circular walk, with over 60% of the route in shaded areas. The children set off at 9am and returned to school in great spirits, where they cooled off in the air-conditioned computer suite. They then enjoyed their packed lunches and delicious ice pops kindly provided by the PTFA in the shade on the school field with their families.

In the afternoon, our Key Stage 1 children enjoyed a shorter walk to the playing fields and back before joining their families for more ice pops and time together in the shade.

We are incredibly grateful to all the parents, carers and families who came along to support the children, many of whom took time off work to attend. Your encouragement made all the difference and created a truly special community atmosphere.

Thanks to your amazing support, we have already raised over £1,800! These funds will be used over the coming year to enhance and upgrade the provision in our EYFS outdoor area, creating even more opportunities for purposeful play and exploration.

If you still have any remaining sponsor money to hand in, please could this be returned to the school office by Monday 30th June.

Finally, a huge well done to all of our pupils for their determination, positivity, and smiles throughout the day. We are so proud of you all!
