English Plans
Please note - this page is currently under development due to the introduction of the Pearson 'Wordsmith' English scheme throughout school. New plans for our updated curriculum will be available shortly.
At Kilham CE Primary School, we follow the statutory National Curriculum Programme of Study for English in Key Stages 1 and 2. These can be accessed by clicking here.
In addition to English work being linked to the topic theme, we have discrete English ‘Long Term Overviews’ which ensure coverage of the English curriculum for each year group. These plans link the class topic to genres of text and writing activities, speaking and listening activities etc. They also outline coverage of ‘Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar’ for the year.
‘Learning Objective Progression' documents, which we use as 'Medium Term' Plans for English for each year group/class have been created by Mrs. Plumpton, our English coordinator, to outline learning for each term. Teachers then use a range of sources, such as Hamilton Trust resources, to plan weekly for their classes.
