Class 3 Murton Park Viking Day
On Wednesday 22nd June, Class 3 visited Murton Park for their class trip linked to their topic ‘Invasion’. They spent a full day learning about the life of a Viking settler in a real Viking settlement!
The day was spent completing many Viking activities including meeting the Lady of the Village and working under her orders. Throughout the day, the children had to prove to the Lady of the village that they had the necessary skills to be an asset! Working in groups, the children learnt about farming and food in the Viking age, pottery, and household tasks. The children then took turns on guard duty and learnt how to defend the village from attack. The children had a marvellous time and enjoyed themselves. Class 3 will now use this knowledge moving forward in their history learning.
