Easter Praise

Happy Easter from the children and staff at Kilham Church of England Primary School.

Yesterday, during our Easter service, I mentioned that Easter is a significant time of the year for us as a Church of England school. Over this week, children across the school have enjoyed an Easter Fair, eating chocolate eggs and taking part in an Easter egg hunt on the field, but they have also been considering the true meaning of Easter. Children at Kilham School understand the importance of Lent and Holy Week and that Easter is the most important Christian festival as it celebrates Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, three days after being executed by crucifixion.

The children from class 3 performed their Easter Service- Easter Praise, which shared the Easter story with the congregation. Parents and children sang beautifully during the packed service, and the children told the Easter story. During the service, several children in Class 3 sang solo songs, hushing the audience to silence. Well done to all of the solo singers – you made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and brought a lump to my throat. Amazing! Well done to all of the staff and children in class 3, and a big thank you to Reverend Glynn and Steve for letting us use the All Saints Church as the backdrop to our service.
