Following the recent tragic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria the school council at Kilham C of E Primary School decided that they needed to do something to help. At a school council meeting it was decided that we would hold a non-uniform and messy hair day to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee.  On Friday 24th February every single child from across the school came to school in non-uniform and with messy hair. The children had previously spoken with teachers and in worship to look at and think about the consequences of the earthquakes. They knew that any money raised would go towards supporting the families of the  47,000 people killed and the 18 million made homeless or injured. Our target was to raise £200.00 which could provide emergency shelter for 8 families.

Thank you to all of the children and parents from Kilham School because our final total was just over £366.00 a remarkable amount especially in the current economic climate. All of the money raised will be donated to the disaster appeal and go to help people in need.
