"Encourage one another and build each other up." (Thessalonians 5.11)
Children across school made a spectacular effort with their costumes today, thanks to all of our parents who supported the day.
If you see dragons, magicians, elephants or warriors walking around Kilham on Thursday 7th March don’t worry as it is World Book Day and the children at school have been asked to come to school in fancy dress as their favourite book character. This year we intend to celebrate World Book Day with a fun-filled day of activities including paired work with older children reading with younger children and a range of activities based around books organised by the class teacher.
World Book Day also links with an exciting 30 Day Reading Challenge, children across the school are trying to read for 10 minutes during the day for 30 days out of 40. Any child completing this challenge will be given ten vouchers to go into our prize draw with three lucky children winning a £20.00 Amazon voucher. Happy Reading.
Congratulations to the children in the gallery below, they were selected by their class teacher for their amazing costumes and took home a new reading is succeeding pencil, a certificate and were also given 5 vouchers towards our 30 day reading challenge. Can you try and work out which character they were dressed as?
Older children across the school enjoyed the opportunity to read and share stories with younger children. Enjoy the video of children across the school sharing books together.
