History Workshops for class 3 and class 4.
Class 4 and Class 3 at Kilham Primary School had an exciting and educational experience as part of their topic on the Shang Dynasty (class 4) and the stone, bronze and iron age (class 3). The children had morning and afternoon sessions participating in an interactive workshop led by the fantastic and enthusiastic facilitator, Louise.
The children in class 4 learned about various aspects of the ancient Shang civilisation, from its history and culture to its customs and beliefs. Louise engaged the class through interactive activities, with the children working together in groups to create dramatic re-enactments, bringing the Shang Dynasty to life. The workshop was an enjoyable and immersive way for the children to deepen their understanding of this fascinating period in history.
The children in class 3 did lots of games and activities where they had to act out various scenarios like hunting in the stone age. The children needed to complete a freeze frame of what an archaeologist would find on an iron age dig. The workshop was hands on, immersive and helped the children learn more about this important time in history. The children also learnt more information about the stone built Neolithic settlement Skara Brae which can be found on Orkney.
